Our first conference at Virginia Tech in Winter 2007.
Together MAUVSA has raised over $25,000 regionally and over $250,000 nationally with our partner regions for the Collective Philanthropy Project, a collaborative effort to fundraise for a single philanthropy each…
MAUVSA hosted the 7th Annual UNAVSA Conference bringing the biggest attendance rate to date! We sure know how to be hospitable!
MAUVSA’s 5th Annual Conference is coming hot off the heals of UNAVSA’s 8th Conference in Denver, Colorado. Prepare to advance our community.
About MAUVSA:
The Mid-Atlantic Union of Vietnamese Student Associations (MAUVSA) is a non-profit alliance of college-based cultural organizations from D.C., Maryland, and Virginia. It consists of campus chapters from eight major schools throughout the region:
Each chapter operates independently and autonomously from the rest. Over the years, this has led to various (and sometimes conflicting) goals, methods and activities.
The Collective Philanthropy Project, CPP, is an initiative created in 2004 for Vietnamese-student and community organizations to collaborate in working toward a charitable cause. The idea was to create momentum for a collective national effort under a different philanthropic campaign each year. The CPP campaign assists North American non-profit organizations to better achieve their mission through collective and collaborative fundraising with uNAVSA.
Each year the top three candidates are invited to present their projects that they would like constituents of uNAVSA at our annual conference to fundraise for the following year. In years past, we have worked with organizations such as VietAct, The Catalyst Foundation, the VOICE, Viet Hope, Vietnamese American Heritage Foundation, Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation and have raised a combined $260,000.00.
